National Key Laboratory

The laboratory is guided by national strategic needs and the development direction of the fiber optic cable industry, implementing an "open, mobile, joint, and competitive" operating mechanism. The main research focus is on applied basic research, key technology research, and common technology research. The main research content is to solve problems related to prefabricated rods, fiber optic cables (including special fibers), fiber optic cables and their manufacturing equipment, and fiber optic cable application and testing technology. Five research laboratories or centers have been established for fiber optic technology, fiber optic cable technology, equipment technology, fiber optic application technology, and testing technology.

The laboratory currently has over 120 fixed researchers, including 40 with senior technical titles/doctoral degrees and over 60 with master's degrees; The laboratory covers an area of over 7000 square meters and has established multiple scientific research and innovation platforms, including prefabricated rod technology, fiber optic technology (including special fiber), optical cable technology, and testing technology; The laboratory testing center has been accredited by the China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment and the international authoritative organization Telcordia Laboratory. These basic conditions provide strong talent guarantee and platform support for the long-term development of the laboratory and major national strategic needs.

The laboratory is based on the R&D center of Changfei Company, and has achieved remarkable scientific research results through years of hard work and development by a large number of scientific and technological personnel. Won 4 national key new product awards; In 2018, it was evaluated as an excellent enterprise State Key Laboratory, ranking first in the information field; We have won 3 second prizes of the National Science and Technology Progress Award, as well as more than 10 first and second prizes of the China Electronic Information Science and Technology Award and the Hubei Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award; Undertook more than 40 national level projects/projects, including the National 973 Program, 863 Program, National Key R&D Program, National Natural Science Foundation of China, International Science and Technology Cooperation Projects, National Science and Technology Major Projects, and Industrial Strong Foundation Project; Leading/participating in the revision of over 130 international, national, and industry standards; Applied for over 880 domestic and international invention patents, and over 50 PCT patent applications; Published nearly 470 scientific papers.
